War Elephants S0 E1

00:53-01:40

Join brother-and-sister-team Bob and Joyce Poole as they travel to Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique on a simple but dangerous (some would say crazy) mission: to confront traumatized, charging elephants; teach them not to attack people; and convince them that after 16 years of civil war, poaching and destruction, the humans in the park now come in peace and offer protection, not bloodshed and terror. Their plan is a complex mixture of science and what some might consider insanity: Bob and Joyce will drive directly into the path of charging Gorongosa elephants - and refuse to back down. The hope is to habituate the elephants to people, prove that tourists are not a threat, and hopefully, not get trampled in the process.

Wild Congo S0 E1

04:50-05:37

The Congo: more powerful and dangerous than any other river, yet a sanctuary and home for some of the most wonderful creatures on our Earth. "Wild Congo" follows the second largest river on Earth from its source in Zambia on its journey through marshland areas and rainforests. Biologists consider it to be the cradle of evolution: an experimental location for the emergence of new species! The shoebill, elephant fish and blind eel are just a few examples of the wildlife of the Congo and its astounding ability to adapt. Being separated by the water masses of the Congo River has also enabled our closest relatives, chimpanzees and bonobos, to develop completely different social systems, with violence and oppression reigning on one side of the river while care and tenderness take precedence on the other. Another life begins further down the river, where the Congo flows into the Atlantic and turtles hatch on the beach as they begin their lifelong battle against the ocean.

Battle For The Pride S0 E1

06:26-07:16

Botswana is home to the largest male lions on the planet but only 1 out of 8 males ever make it to adulthood. Lion cubs start their life vulnerable and weak and threats come from all sides. It takes years to learn all the skills they will need to become an apex predator and they must overcome many challenges, in order to survive. Understanding pride politics is a vital first lesson. Watching and learning everything from their family, young lions practice their killer moves on each other before moving on to prey. Within a couple of years they become strong, independent hunters, helping to feed the pride, but for some their days are numbered. Once fully grown, females become pride queens, taking their place at the side of the adult lionesses, but males are banished, no longer tolerated by the dominant male. They must learn to fend for themselves, out in no-man's land, and no-man's land is a dangerous place. Being part of a brotherhood gives them strength which they would not have alone. Together they can try to win themselves a new pride but there can only be one king

Wild Congo S0 E1

23:18-23:59
